More and more, couples are keeping it simple. Moses and Tammy got married in Norwalk at the courthouse there and then asked me to capture their wedding day portraits at the Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadia, CA.
Initially, they wanted to take photos at the rose garden area. Well, that is not going to work well this time of the year, so I took them on a tour of the grounds. But we will got some photos in the roseless rose garden.
Just passed the rose garden area of the Los Angeles Arboretum is this lovely location of hedges.
They still wanted a moment in the rose garden area so I asked them to dance with each other. No wedding day, not matter how small should be without a first dance.
This is a shot I will try to get for anyone I shoot here. They don't allow tripods for shoots, but in order to get this moment with the waterfall, you have to be very still and I have to be twice as still as that. Not always possible due to wind and everyone's balance, especially with eyes closed.
We were having great luck as the sun was always in the right place at the right time.
Moses wanted a moment in the blooms of these trees. Great choice! The colors for Valentine's Day were just perfect.
Since I was not there for their courthouse ceremony, I opted to have them put their rings on again for me.
Lastly we finished off with a moment where I had them be alone with each other and I got as far away as I could... Even portraits can be candid.
Truly, Moses and Tammy were an amazing couple. I'd love to have taken even longer with them than the extra time we shot, but it was Valentine's Day so it was off for each of us to go and have a lovely evening.
