Wedding Location - Doubletree Hotel San Pedro CA and The Plaza at Cabrillo Marina
When it comes to all the venues I have ever shot at in my 21 year career, there are some that just stick out. I want to say this is the 3rd or 4th time I have shot here. The Plaza at Cabrillo Marina and the adjacent Doubletree by Hilton in San Pedro is a perfect combination for a smaller wedding. Located at the waters edge, the large grass area and the reception location next to it are a great combo.
Upon arrival, I walked over the the Plaza and checked the progress of the set up. I was there an hour early so I had some time. The groom is the son of my sister's best friends sister. A family I have known for years and years, so it was great to see many familiar faces. My sister Karen, who should be a coordinator and her husband who was a DJ back in the days of vinyl were also there to help and MC the event. I snapped a few images of the goings on and walked over to the hotel to find the bride and groom.
This page is likely to load much slower than any of my other blog pages. This is due to the fact that I have uploaded full resolution files and not low res images.
A moment alone
Mona was getting ready and was only one hour from getting married, so I went to work.
A very beautiful and simple dress. The little ties on it made it unique. I believe it was a Vera Wang.
Once I was done shooting the dress I asked Mona to take a look at it before putting it on.
Mona's nephew was going at 100mph. It wasn't easy getting a shot of him.
From there it was a race to the ceremony. Daniel could not wait to see his bride.
No wonder he was smilling. She and her father looked great as they approached.
As the couple exchanged their I do's, I got a lot of photos. Nearly 500 images in about 30 minutes. And yes you can see them all in their gallery.
After the ceremony and the family photos, we got them away on their own for some romantics. We kept it short and concise and got them into their reception promptly.
Hang on tight you two!
So you might be wondering why I am only showing black and whites. No reason other than to give you all an anticipation of the 2500+ images I captured in 5 hours. Ready to see them all?
