Setting the Tone: Choosing the Perfect Color Palette
The journey to a beautifully cohesive wedding begins with selecting the right color palette. Consider the mood you want to evoke – whether it's romantic and whimsical, modern and sleek, or timeless and elegant. Your chosen colors will set the tone for everything from your invitations to your floral arrangements, bridesmaids and groomsmen clothing and beyond.

Harmonizing Hues: Finding Balance and Contrast
When crafting your color palette, aim for harmony and balance. Opt for a primary color as your foundation and complement it with secondary and accent colors for depth and visual interest. Experiment with different shades and tones to strike the perfect balance between cohesion and contrast. If you are not the person to create this, we do highly recommend you hire a coordinator, not just for the day of, but one that will help you through the whole process. They have the contacts and have seen what works and well...
Trending Tones: Stay Ahead of the Curve
While classic color schemes stand the test of time, don't be afraid to incorporate trending tones to add a contemporary flair to your wedding decor. Keep an eye on current color trends in fashion, interior design, and weddings to ensure your palette feels fresh and on-point. Also consider the time of the year. Orange at a Christmas season wedding may be bold, but you may find it will clash with expectations to the entire holiday cheer. If you want to know how tones and accents work, go to a Home Depot paint department. Color charts and swatches abound. Grab some of them and see where your mind goes and once you have them, bring that to your florist and see how that will inspire them.
Bringing Your Vision to Life: Implementing Color Accents
With your color palette in hand, it's time to infuse your wedding with captivating color accents. From ceremony decor to reception details, here are some innovative ways to incorporate color throughout your celebration:
1. Ceremony Arch:
Create a stunning focal point for your vows with a beautifully adorned ceremony arch. Adorn it with lush florals, draped fabric, and cascading ribbons in your chosen color scheme to frame your love-filled moment in style. Depending on your heritage, often simple white drapes or linens may be used here but you can always keep it modest if needed.
White was everywhere and done very tastefully at this recent beach wedding in Victoria Beach, CA. From the spires to the aisle runners, these gorgeous florals were everywhere on the property.
2. Tablescapes:
Elevate your reception tables with thoughtfully curated centerpieces that reflect your color palette. Mix and match linens, tableware, and floral arrangements in complementary hues to create a tablescape that's as visually stunning as it is memorable. Most venues have a large assortment. Since you are often bound to what they offer for your wedding, this is a great place to check into first in order to keep your costs down and not find yourself with no option other than buying it all yourself.
3. Bridal Party Attire:
Make a statement with your bridal party's attire by incorporating pops of color into their ensembles. Whether it's bold bridesmaid dresses or vibrant accessories for the groomsmen, coordinated color accents will tie your entire wedding party together seamlessly.
4. Dessert Display and Cake Table:
Sweeten up your reception with a dessert display that's as visually enticing as it is delicious. From colorful macarons to ombré wedding cakes, infuse your sweet treats with hues that echo your chosen color palette for an Instagram-worthy display.

Invite and Encourage Your Guests to Wear Bright Colors
Imagine how amazing it would look if your guests came in fantastic color outfits. I have seen a few people who come dressed in colors that pull your attention, but if everyone did it, oh the photos would be amazing.
Consider a Gradient Color Scheme
Now I have only seen this once long ago but it was so pretty. The aisle runner flowers were gradients of pink from dark to light and eventually white from the back to the front of the aisle. It was just stunning. I am going to have to go back and try to find what this looked like but talk to your florist about it. Even consider it for your multi level cake. It would be a great accent to the day if your wedding cake had a similar shift in color from top to bottom. Then add those same color flowers to your cascade on the cake too.
Just Go Nuts with Color
Okay, just look at this! Wouldn't you love to walk down this aisle?
