Engagement Photography Location - Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Brea, CA
With this couples' upcoming wedding on December 9, 2023, we had to get their engagement photos done quickly. Monica and Simon x2 met me at the Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea. See other sessions from this location.
One thing that is unique about this location is that it has a large redwood forest. It takes a bit of a hike to get there, but you will always be glad you did.
They had their son come along too! It was fun to take some family photos first. But he needed some encouragement first. Yep, juice pouch did the trick. Can't wait to see him all dressed up next month.
After our walk and some dusting off of their shoes, we got down to business. Monica has piercing eyes and I wanted to make sure to capture that.
After our initial start, they relaxed a bit, but still needed some more time together so I had them take a walk and capture them. You can tell, she does lover her cowboy!
Soon after I had them sit on the posts there. I don't remember what was said but the laugh was a sign they were finally getting into the moment.
I love to backlight couples. Most photographers shy away from it but I take on the challenge. It just took a bit to find the right spot since we were there earlier than I normally am, so the sun was in the wrong spot.
Some more walking brought us to the adjacent damn. It looks kinda desolate back there but it is a nice contrast to the forest.
One or two more stops and then we got them back to the main part of the park and the grassy area near the volleyball court. Now I decided to do a photo I have not done in years and I think I will have to start adding it back when I can. You can't get a couple much closer than this and it is such a nice shot.
